How Reliable Are EVs for Daily Commutes and Weekend Getaways?

This is my second post here! I'm curious to know your experiences using electric vehicles for daily commuting and short weekend trips. How reliable do you find your EV in terms of range, charging convenience, and comfort?

Have you faced any challenges or pleasantly surprised moments?

Looking forward to hearing from fellow EV users!

They're just fine! Actually much more comfortable and roomy than their gasoline car equivalents.

Honestly, the only drawbacks is having to plan for charging a bit if you want to save money (if you don't, just pull into any highway station with a charger and pay with credit card), and having some chargers, especially tesla ones, situated in areas with no toilets or small shop, especially on sundays.

Hi,

I've had an EV for 24 months and have driven 35,569 km (1,482 km per month, which meens between 300 and 350 km per week).

I'm delighted with my vehicle (Cupra Born 77kWh), which allows me to make my usual trips, up to 140 km in a day, and charge at home overnight.

The vehicle is quiet except for the noise of the tires on rough surfaces at certain speeds, and my EV is very responsive.

I always have enough time to charge at home overnight on a 3.5 kW charger.

I've only charged on a fast charger on road, to test it, and learn how to do it if necessary, and I haven't had any problems or difficulties.

So, for me, it's a 100% positive experience.

I don't go away for weekends, but with a comfortable range in summer, I could do it without any worries, considering stages of 250 to 300 km.

Tu parles uniquement anglais ?

I didn't see Av, the thread's creator, say hello.

If he's not comfortable with French... why come to a French forum? It's not as if English is a rare language on the internet.
Nor as if translation services are incompatible with an EN <> FR translation.

Finally, go speak French on an English forum (even 3 words, to welcome another French person), you'll see how you'll get immediately reprimanded...

In my opinion it's a bot, and everyone is wasting their time...

Read the first post again carefully@Av...

For my part, I make the effort to translate my posts using Google Translate when I post in, for example, an Italian forum that I visit from time to time.

And your aggression is out of place, even if it is accompanied by the use of the formal "vous"...

True, its not a way to welcome others, it feels so disconnected.

it's great to hear such a positive experience! The Cupra Born sounds like a perfect match for your driving habits, especially with the convenience of home charging. That kind of range and reliability definitely builds confidence for longer trips. Nice.....
