Laurent,
It's silly. Apparently, Hyundai Portugal was not given access to the updated firmware yet. As if the cars were any different...
Today I had a meeting with the director of the dealership and someone from technical support in Hyundai Portugal. They updated my firmware to the most recent version. In the meanwhile, I learned a couple of things.
The person from technical support is actually the person that has been trained for battery repair. A second person will be necessary in Portugal, as all operations must be done by two to meet security requirements. I learned, for instance, that even though I've done 21 thousand kms, a descent in SoH is not expected soon, yet.
Anyway, I learned that the dealer where I went for the 15000km service did not have access to the new firmware at the time, but that Hyundai Portugal did have. It was made available to the whole of Europe at the same time, at the beginning of this year (which is the only logical way).
The dealer did not have access to the new version then, because the dealer must pay to have that access. I don't even want to try imagining the complexities of the contracts between dealer and the importer.... However, we now know why we don't always get the firmware we hear about in the forums.
In the end, I think it was this person from Hyundai that brought the firmware to update on my car. It looked as though they were being lenient on the dealer, because this is a new dealership, only a few months old.
@chui , to you specifically. You too should go directly to Hyundai Cyprus to get this problem solved. Even if the dealer didn't get access to the new firmware, probably a similar arrangement between Hyundai Cyprus and the dealer will be made. You must find out what's the email address of the technical support at Hyundai Cyprus and complain to them that you don't have the newest firmware.
Apparently, Hyundai Europe is not aware of a relationship between the firmware update and the amnesia problem we know, because it is not in the release notes (the release notes must be exactly what has been posted in the german forum).
