The steps I used:

• Stop first.
• Put the car in reverse
• Keep the brake pressed down
• Open the driver door. As I have the break pressed, car does not turn off.
• Release the brake.
• Car shows message about drive ready state with door open.
• Press accelerator and car will reverse

1. s'arreter
2. Mettre la marche arriere avec la pedale de frein enfoncée
3. ouvrir la porte (pour voir derriere ou le coté par exemple)
4. relacher le frein
5. la voiture rouspete en indiquant une porte ouverte
6. appuyer (eviter le fortement) sur l'accelerateur et la voiture recule
