Suzuki a beaucoup utilisé le mot hybride dans ses publicités, mais la Swift s'était toujours contenté d’une hybridation légère, avec alterno-démarreur. S’il fait un peu baisser consommations et émissions, ce système, certes économique, est bien moins efficace qu’une « vraie » hybridation, à la manière de ce que propose les Renault Clio et Toyota Yaris.

Mais ça c'était avant . En effet la prochaine génération de la Swift aura le droit à son tour à un hybride simple, sans délaisser l’hybride léger pour les plus petits budgets.
